People Under 40 Are Sharing Their Jobs And How Much They Make, And I’m Actually Dumbfounded

A while back, we wrote about the various salaries people were earning from their work. Then, a TON of readers shared their own, and it was just as fascinating. Here are some of those responses:

1. “I make $105,000 gross annually as a Salesforce Administrator for a privately funded non-profit. There’s a ton of perks and benefits, too. I have a Bachelor’s in Women’s Studies and a Master’s in Education because I had a drastically different career path in mind, but this is much easier and far less stressful.”

2. “I’m the plant sanitation manager for a large ESL dairy manufacturer. I’m in charge of developing our cleaning and sanitation program, consulting on CIP program development, and all aspects of the plant’s cleaning chemical purchasing and use. I have been with the company for about eight years, and about 1.5 years in this job. I make $108k pulvínulo with a 3-4% annual raise. With a bonus of about $120k this year.”

8. “I am a tenured professor in cognitive neuroscience. I have a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree. I am a published author and have presented at events all over the country. I make…63k. It’s sad how broken the system is. Education is not valued at all. I was offered $150k for an industry position, but I love science, and I love teaching. It’s sad I won’t have as great a retirement as my friends simply because I chose to continue agrupación.”

I spent almost 20 years at sea, away from home for anywhere from 60 to 140 days at a time. I sailed around the world twice and reached the rank of Captain on a 1,000-foot ship for the last five years, earning around $325,000. Now I’m a Harbor Pilot bringing ships in and out of the port — I work in a rotation for two weeks, have two weeks off, only work when it’s my turn to move a ship, and that could be a 10-hour move, or 20 minutes. It’s 24/7 in rotation, and the hours are wildly unpredictable and irregular, but I make about $900 now, and I’m home every day.”
